Our meetings are held in the Old Goods Office opposite the car park of Heuston Station in Dublin.

Welcome to the Dublin area of the Irish Railway Record Society

The parent branch of the Society, we are based at the Old Goods Offices beside Heuston Station in Dublin 8. Our HQ is home to our Archives and Library and also the location of our monthly meetings.

Our Monthly meetings are held from September to May, normally on the last Thursday of the month (subject to change). The meetings cover a wide range of Irish railway related topics from picture slideshows, film shows, and historical talks, to presentations & talks from industry stakeholders. Most meetings are also held on Zoom for those unable to attend in person.

How to get there

We are located beside Heuston Station opposite the entrance to the station carpark.

By Public Transport:

Rail: If arriving at Heuston Station by rail, follow signs for the car park. We are located opposite the station car park entrance.

Bus:

  • Route 4 from Monkstown to Heuston Station, Route N2 from Clontarf Road Station to Heuston Station and Route S2 from Irishtown to Heuston Station will all drop you at bus stop 7939 which is located just across from our HQ building.
  • Routes C1, C2, C3, C4, 52 and 60 from City Centre to stop 2637 on Saint John’s Road West, then cross the road into Heuston Station and follow the signs for the car park. We are located opposite the station car park entrance.
  • Routes 26, 69 from City Centre to stop 7078 on Parkgate Street. Then walk back to Seán Heuston Bridge and cross over to the front of Heuston Station, then walk along the Liffey Road to our building opposite the station car park entrance.

LUAS: Luas Red Line trams stop at the front of Heuston Station. You can then walk along the Liffey Road to our building opposite the station car park entrance.

If driving or cycling:

You can approach from Saint John’s Road West around the front of the station building and turning left before Frank Sherwin Bridge to drive down the Liffey Road towards the station car park. Alternatively, if approaching from the City Centre direction drive down the South Quays and on passing the Guinness Brewery on Victoria Quay continue straight at the next traffic lights to the Liffey Road alongside Heuston Station towards the station car park. Cycle parking is also available beside the car park entrance.
