Railway companies amassed huge collections of historical maps and drawings, from station architecture to blue-prints of locomotive designs. In July 2011, Irish Rail donated to the Society a large number of original drawings from the Dundalk Drawing Office. These had been forgotten in a remote part of Inchicore Works for over 50 years. It has been possible to photograph these to make good readable prints and digital copies. With higher resolution cameras combined with extremely sharp lenses and image processing software, it has become possible to make good copies of originals, previously in much worse condition and with smaller annotations.

IRRS Digital Drawings Collection (£)
Drawings are sold in aid of IRRS funds and printed on-demand. These are available face-to-face at a number of Exhibitions; including the IRRS London Area Transport Collectors Market, Bangor Model Railway Exhibition (April), Dublin Model Railway Exhibition (October), Warley Exhibition (November) and IRRS London Area Meetings. Digital drawings are available on disk, or by internet using WeTransfer or memory stick for small fee.
