The Society learnt recently of the passing of our long-standing member TOM J DOWLING. Courtesy of Tom’s family, they have now generously donated his excellent photographic & film collection to the IRRS Archive, featuring wonderful scenes of the CIÉ diesel-traction during the 1960’s & 70’s, as sampled above and below. Tom served as ‘Hon Auditor‘ for the IRRS over 30 years and was a regular Tuesday/Thursday night attendee at IRRS HQ at Heuston Station, Dublin, and on railtours for many years. May he rest in peace.
